Automotive Relay Manufacturing: Meeting IATF 16949 Standards with Fully Automated Assembly Lines

Automotive relays require stable performance under thermal cycling and continuous vibration, with zero-defect production governed by IATF 16949. Closed-loop servo riveting stations deliver ±0.008mm positional repeatability and force-displacement curve monitoring to eliminate riveting cracks and loose joint risks. Yangning supplies a full range of automated relay assembly equipment. Our base assembly machine acts as the core platform for integrating custom riveting stations.

Automotive Harsh Environment Demands

Automotive-grade relays must sustain -40℃ ~ +125℃ thermal cycling and 10–2000Hz vibration without contact drift. Production stations must maintain \(C_{pk} \ge 1.67\) for all forming and riveting operations to satisfy automotive zero PPM requirements. Key failure modes to suppress: rivet over-compression, coil misalignment, core tilt.

The turnkey line uses cam indexing dial architecture, split into independent modular stations:

  1. Base assembly: PPU picks and positions plastic housing, ESD neutralization for molded components
  2. Iron core riveting: Closed-loop servo riveting unit with dynamic force-displacement envelope tracking
  3. Coil inserting: Poka-Yoke mechanical interlock prevents reversed coil loading
